February

I know it has been a while since I have published a post, so I figured I would write today to catch everyone up on what has been happening in the month of February.
Unfortunately, this has been an unhealthy month for the Nickels family. Jason and I have both had the flu. Jason caught it first and then I caught it. I knew I probably would catch it because at the time Jason was sick, I was still on antibiotics for my sinus infection. Anyway, the good news is that we are both well now. Sadie also had some down time this month. She was spayed and just got her stitches out yesterday. She was mellow for only the first day and then she was her crazy self again. Oh the joys of having a puppy! :)
I started my new job this month and I am enjoying it very much! I now work for a medical billing office in Oklahoma City that handles billing for emergency room physicians. I am working in the AR department. This job is great. My bosses are very nice, I work in a very homey atmosphere, I can wear whatever I want (jeans, sweats...), and every Friday we get to go home an hour early. Jason is jealous. :)
Speaking of Jason, Dell laid off about 250 people not too long ago, 75% of the consumer side. The top 25% were moved to business sales. Jason is already in business sales and was sales rep of the quarter last quarter, so his job seems to be pretty safe. This month has been hard. He is working the late shift, 12pm-9pm, but it looks like he will still make his quota. :) I am definitely looking forward to March, so I can see him more.
Many things have happened at church this month too. Choir started up again. The church has been going through a time of rediscovering what it really means to worship God, so choir took some time off during the month of January. This has been such a wonderful time for the church. I feel so blessed to be part of a church that cares so deeply about the worship lives of its members. (Speaking of members, Jason and I joined last Sunday.) Jason and I are excited to be a part of choir again. We love it! We are also still enjoying our flock. We are part of a young marrieds flock that meets on Sunday mornings during 1st service.
Well, I guess that is mostly it. I am waiting for the weather here to change. It has definitely been cold this month. I miss California. I miss my family, friends and the weather. :) I hope you are all doing well!
