Pulling Up to Standing
This morning Maddie pulled up to standing in her crib for the first time. Since then, Maddie has been working hard at perfecting her skill. I think she has got a pretty good hang of it now. When she pulled up for this picture Jason and I said, "Yay, Maddie!" She responded by smiling and yelling a very high pitched "victory" yell. It was very cute! :)

What a Rainy Day
Today it rained most of the day. A storm sat on top of the OKC Metro for hours. Some places in Oklahoma City got up to 10 inches of rain. There is major flooding as well. Luckily, we have been spared. Our area of town is definitely wet, but no flooding. Early today, while watching the weather on tv, my tv and internet stopped working. I called tech support and nothing worked over the phone so they sent out a technician. He got to the house around 4:30 or so and discovered that lightening had blown our modem. He replaced it and now tv and internet are back up. After he left, we realized that a circuit was blown as well. Jason is looking into that now with our neighbor. What a crazy day! Maddie and I spent the day watching movies. Narnia: Prince Caspian, Veggie Tales: Heroes of the Bible, and Oklahoma!, to be exact. Tomorrow calls for rain again, but starting Weds the rest of the week is supposed to stay dry. We will see...

Big Girl Car Seat
Yesterday we purchased and installed Maddie's new "big girl" car seat. She can still fit in her infant seat, but we had the money for this car seat now and since it fits babies 5-35 lbs rear-facing, we decided to go ahead and install it. We purchased a Britax Marathon. It was on sale at Babies 'R Us and we also had a 20% off coupon to discount it further. I think Maddie really likes it. She is higher up, so I think it makes it easier to see out the back window. It is a convertable seat and will switch to forward facing once she reaches one year old and 20 pounds. It is forward facing for babies 20-65 pounds. We will not have to purchase another car seat for some time now. We did a lot of research and we are very happy with our pick. :)
