Sam's Club is my friend. :)

Sadie loves chewing on rawhide bones. As soon as I pull one out of the package she immediately sits down and perks up her ears as if to say, "Look Mom, I am being a good girl. Can I please have the bone??"
Yesterday, while shopping at Sam's Club (WalMart's version of Costco) Jason and I found a bag of 15 rawhides for $9! They are plain and Sadie normally gets the chicken basted bones, but she still went nuts over it. I guess we know where we are buying them from now on. Sadie will never have to worry about running out. That will make for one happy puppy! :)

Cold Season Has Begun

This past weekend Jason came down with a terrible head/sinus cold. I did my best to take care of him all the while popping vitamin c and telling myself, "I am not go to catch it". Well, I caught it. This morning I woke up with a stuffy nose, headache and sore throat. I still went to work and lasted the whole day. I trained my replacement today and made sure to wipe down everything in hopes that I would not pass it on to her. I only have 2 more days at my current job and then I start my new job on Monday. Please pray that I will get better soon and will not be under the weather on Monday morning.

Tonight

The sky is so beautiful tonight! Jason and I just got back from taking Sadie for a walk to enjoy the perfect weather we are having. I absolutely love this time of the year!

New Job

Yesterday, I accepted a position with the bank I worked for before my current job. I think this change is going to be one for the better. They have offered me more money, good benefits and the location is not far from the house. I will be working for someone I know and like very much. The company also knows about my trip to CA in December. This new location I am working at is a quiet office, but busy enough to provide work throughout the day. I am excited about the change of pace. I think it is exactly what I need right now. I also won't need any training as I already know their system. I can jump right in! :) I struggled a bit about leaving my office because it is behind due to the loss of another employee, but I realized I needed to think of myself and what would be best for Jason and I. (This pay raise and shorter commute is going to go a long way in paying off our debt.) Thank you to the family members who have prayed for me during this time as I was trying to decide whether to stay or leave my current job. I think everything is working out for the best.

Self Portrait

Today I decided to dye my hair dark for fall. I loved how it came out. There are still blonde highlights throughout the top, so my hair shimmers in the sunlight. Jason really likes the new color. It is actually the closest I have been to my "natural" color in quite some time. It is amazing how much more I notice my eyes and even my eyebrows. I hope everyone in CA likes the change as much as I do. Soon you will get to see it in person!

Poppies!!

Tonight Jason and I went to Mardels and I went to admire the poppy painting. I love this painting. I have been wanting it for quite some time. Jason did well last month at Dell and surprised me today by buying it for me!!! I put it on our mantel as soon as we got home! It looks so good!

6 weeks!!!

It is officially 6 weeks from the date of my surgery! I am now allowed to lift over 10 pounds. :) Jack and Sadie seem to be happy about that. My incision has healed beautifully. I am not as tired as I have been and I am happy to start to do more things. The weather is starting to cool which I am very happy about. Jason and I love to take walks in the evening time around our neighborhood.
We have decided recently that we are going to stop talking about getting into shape and actually do it. Now that I am out of the recovery time frame I am not nervous about starting to exercise. (A few weeks ago I was worried I would hurt myself if I tried anything.) Wish us luck! Exercise has to be one of the hardest things for both Jason and I to stay committed to, but we know that we need to in order to be healthy. Plus, I want to look my best when I see all of you in California for Lacey's wedding. :) All in all, I am doing well physically.
Please continue to keep me in your prayers. One thing that has changed since surgery is my ability to handle stress. My job has been extremely stressful since I have returned. Unfortunately, I am not handling it as well as I would like to. (I experienced my very first migraine headache last week and have since had a second one less than a week later.) I have decided to put my resume out there in hopes of finding someplace closer to home that will not be as stressful as my current job.
I guess to sum up my progress since August 15th, I am doing well physically and emotionally, except for the stress factor. Thank you to everyone who continues to keep me in their prayers.
